This intimate Wythe Hotel wedding in Brooklyn emphasized a connective experience, celebrating the union of two families coming together in love to honor Shirley and Adam’s journey.
Wythe Hotel Wedding Filled with Endearing Moments & Genuine Connection
A boutique hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Wythe Hotel is also a modern wedding venue with its own rich history. The building dates back to the early 20th century, and features nods to the past with an industrial interior showcasing exposed brick, an open-air courtyard, and a reception space housed in a restored early 1900s factory. Undeniably, it’s a contemporary Brooklyn wedding venue with notes of the past, for couples who desire a storied wedding day filled with emotion, driven by connection.
Having selected Wythe Hotel for their celebration, Shirley and Adam planned an effortlessly elegant yet intimate wedding day, concentrating on the moments that matter to them most. Prior to meeting with Adam for their first look, Shirley spent the morning preparing for the day in her suite. Witnessing those early morning hours, it was evident that Shirley and Adam’s wedding day was focused on embracing the people closest to them, who honored their union with tender affection.
In her bridal suite, Shirley was surrounded by the members of her wedding party and her beloved sister. Later in the evening, Shirley’s sister gave a heartfelt speech, praising the bond Shirley and Adam share, revealing that, no matter what they’ve faced, Shirley and Adam find their way. It was a glimpse inside the life they share together, and how, when faced with adversity, they manage to find their joy through it all.
Moments in the bridal suite were meant to transition into a first look shared between Shirley and Adam. But, as fate would have it, Adam (accidentally) caught a glimpse of Shirley beforehand. But there was no panic, there was no worry, or stress over not having experienced the ‘perfect moment’.
Instead, after a bout of laughter, the accidental glimpse was fully embraced. Shirley and Adam shared one of the most honest and meaningful first looks I’ve ever filmed at a wedding. Their ability to navigate this moment with joy was not only endearing but contagious. It allowed the atmosphere of their day to be driven by their exuberant personalities, skipping the formalities for engaging moments filled with beauty.

An Exchange of Vows in the Garden Terrace and a Reception in the Main Hall
Shirley and Adam’s Wythe Hotel wedding ceremony took place in the venue’s Garden Terrace. This brick-walled, open-air courtyard features black and white checkered flooring; it’s a space infused with its own brand of Brooklyn charm, and a heavy dose of added character.
Though Shirley and Adam shared a few moments together prior to their ceremony, the seconds leading up to their vow exchange were filled with an abundance of anticipatory excitement. Shirley made her way down the aisle, escorted by both of her parents, and her father was overcome with joy walking his daughter to her soon to be husband. It was a vision of love, in its purest form, a dad overwhelmed with happiness at the sight of his daughter on her wedding day.
Shirley and Adam exchanged vows, promising to love and keep one another for all of their days. As they were pronounced in marriage, Adam smashed the glass to a resounding ‘Mazel Tov’ that reverberated through the air. It was time to pop the bubbly and hit the dance floor, spending the night celebrating their union against the backdrop of the Wythe Hotel, imbued with Williamsburg’s iconic charm.
Both Adam and Shirley’s sisters took to the mic, honoring the newlyweds with speeches filled with an outpouring of love and warmth. Adam’s sister even made a lighthearted joke about how she waited a long time to share her words with everyone. The same atmosphere experienced in the morning carried through to the evening: presence, connection, laughter.
From speeches centered on the joy of shared childhood experiences to the bonds of marriage and family, Shirley and Adam’s Wythe Hotel wedding became a party on the dance floor. After a candlelit dinner where conversations flowed, generations gathered on the dance floor to spend the evening in revelry, honoring Shirley and Adam’s union.
